Digital Generation
Version 1.0.0, released
I grew up in a four-bit microcontroller on the wrong side of town…
A game made in 48 hours for Ludum Dare 24, with the theme “evolution”. There are three levels, and a video walkthrough on YouTube. In game, you can press F5 to skip a level.
Please see the included README file for information about audio problems on OS X.
Development
The graphics were done with Pixen and GIMP, both of which I find frustrating. Sound effects were done with Reason, almost entirely with the Subtractor and Scream modules.
The engine is written in a combination of C++ and C, and I wrote about 3500 lines of code during the 48-hour contest. My hands were sore once again. The game uses a framework which handles basic things like input, OpenGL, loading textures, and mixing sounds.

These are music tracks that were originally going to be background music for some levels. I made them during the 48-hour contest, but I didn't have enough time to get the code working.
